Comenius EduMedia Award 2024

On June 11, 2024, the Comenius EduMedia Award, which celebrated its 29th anniversary this year, was presented at the Haus der Bundespressekonferenz in Berlin.

The Gesellschaft für Pädagogik, Information und Medien e. V. (GPI) honored outstanding digital educational media from all over Europe. Prof. Dr. Dr. Gerhardt E. Ortner opened the event with a review of 60 years of GPI and emphasized the importance of digitalization for the global equalization of educational opportunities.

The keynote speech was given by Dr. Nana Walzer from Vienna, who dealt with the future viability and tasks of education in our time. She highlighted the effects of the increasing attention economy on the reception and perception habits of current and future generations. Her presentation encouraged those present to think and reflect on the opportunities and challenges of digital progress.

Among the award winners, the initiatives Teachtoday and SCROLLER were each awarded an EduMedia seal. Teachtoday impressed the jury with its comprehensive platform for promoting the safe and competent use of digital media. SCROLLER, Deutsche Telekom AG's children's service, offers a child-friendly online magazine that combines digital education and entertainment and helps children to navigate the digital world safely.
