Four out of ten boys as well as girls between the ages of 10 to 18 choose “Using the Internet” when asked about their favorite free-time activity.

First place still goes to “Meeting Friends” – most popular with a good two-thirds the children surveyed.

Preferences do differ among boys and girls, according to the BITKOM study “Jugend 2.0” (Youth 2.0): sports and computer games are favored by boys, whereas girls like music, reading and talking on the phone.
