Social network for aid to refugees

German television host Ranga Yogeshwar is currently developing the prototype for a social network to bring refugees and volunteers together. It aims to connect volunteers at the local level.

Instead of a chronological overview, like Facebook has, it is structured with tabs to enable exchange on various topics, such as child care, how doctors can help, medical care, leisure activities, an online language exchange, a job board, etc.

Among others, Deutsche Telekom along with the Dresden initiative ichhelfe.jetzt and software developer SAP are involved in the implementation. The project was also taken up at the “Refugee Hackathon” on October 24 and 25 in Berlin.

The planned assistance network to promote exchange between equals. The idea is to use the new media to promote social cooperation.
