Media sure! But secure. The jury meets!
Many exciting and above all ambitious media projects that prioritize safe use of digital media have come in this year. Altogether projects from seven countries, including Germany, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Peru, Austria, Romania and Switzerland were submitted to the competition.
No matter whether at school, at home in the family or in your spare time, the diversity of submissions shows that the topic of media competency already belongs to everyday life everywhere. Central issues are involved, like “What does a strong password look like?” or “What opportunities or risks are there on the Internet?” as well as using digital devices creatively. Thus, many projects use the possibilities the Internet has to offer for teaching kids the basics about democracy, culture and politics, all the while discussing safe and conscientious digital media behavior.
It won’t be easy for this year’s jury to pick the winners from the large number of submissions. Teachtoday would thus like to already take the opportunity to thank all the participants for their engagement and exciting projects.
International winners
The first three places result in cash prizes for the submitting class or learning groups, from 300 to 1000 euros. Plus, the finalists will be invited to attend the “Summit for Kids” summit from the Teachtoday initiative. The summit is an action-packed day for children to learn about safe media usage and learning with digital media. At this event, the finalists will find out if they got 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. Country prizes will also be awarded for projects from Germany, Austria and Romania.
All winning projects will of course be detailed after the awards ceremony on teachtoday:
