Sheeplive – Cartoons for More Online Safety
Since when have sheep been known to prance around topless, dance with wolves or spend time in front of the computer? Since Sheeplive has come along, that’s when!
Sheeplive is the international name of the Slovakian project OVCE.sk which aims at keeping children and teenagers safe when using digital media. For young children the short animated films the project produces mainly offer early prevention. To teenagers the films hold up a mirror on their own online behaviour while adults shall also be inspired to reflect on media behaviour.
By doing this, the cartoons on www.sheeplive.eu address vital and urgent issues like cyber mobbing, abuse, privacy, mobile phone overuse and racism on the internet. Thanks to financial support from the Safer Internet program of the EU Commission the sheep on Sheeplive now know most European languages and have even mastered sign language.
Visiting www.sheeplive.com really pays off – not just because the project has received several awards, but because carelessly using the internet is a thing of the past. Sheeplive takes children and teenagers by the hand and leads them towards a safe use of new media.
