Comenius Award 2017: Teachtoday’s triple accolade!
The initiative Teachtoday got high marks for the Teachtoday web portal, our media obstacle course and the SCROLLER magazine for kids. Our offers’ excellent didactic and media quality convinced the international jury to award prizes to Teachtoday in the categories of “Didactic Multimedia Products”, “Computer Games with Skill Promotion Potential” and “General Multimedia Products”.
The Teachtoday initiative (category: “Didactic Multimedia Products”) supports children, teens, parents and grandparents as well as educational professionals with practice-oriented materials and tips that pertain to everyday life in a way that takes into consideration the various different habitats and ways children and young people use media during family, school and free time.
With already four issues of the media magazine for kids SCROLLER (category: “Didactic Multimedia Products”), we’ve made discovering the digital world child’s play. In exciting stories and interviews, kids get to learn was safe and competent media use is all about. With hands-on activities and interactive games SCROLLER encourages kids to think about their own media use and how to shape their digital world.
Our Media Obstacle Course has also been awarded (category: “Computer Games with Skill Promotion Potential”). It offers young people a way to learn and better estimate their own media behavior. With a combination of bodily motion and exciting content the obstacle course gets children between the ages of 9 and 12 to think critically about their own media use.
Once again, receiving awards in these three categories shows how successful and effective the Teachtoday initiative is for children and adolescents. We’re committed to offering high quality, well-conceived teaching and learning materials to convey how to deal with digital media safely and with confidence.
About the Comenius-EduMedia-Awards
The Comenius-EduMedia Awards is one way for the Gesellschaft für Pädagogik und Information e.V. (or “the Society for Pedagogy and Information”) to promote educational media that are particularly high quality both didactically as well as in terms of media. The selection was reached by an international jury of specialists and media experts from ten European countries.
